For years, you’ve been asking how you might use what you’ve
learned through the Schools Attuned Program to help your students’ parents
better understand and support their children’s learning.
We’re proud to say your voices have been heard! Understanding All Kinds of
Minds, a new program from All Kinds of Minds, helps develop an alliance between
parents and other caregivers, educators, and children to support success in
school and at home.
The three primary components of Understanding All Kinds of Minds are All Kinds
of Minds Fairs, Learning about Learning Workshops, and the online Parent
Toolkit. The Fairs and Workshops serve as implementation tools for educators
who participate in Schools Attuned.
The All Kinds of Minds Fair is designed around the premise
that students are ambassadors to their families. The Fair leverages students’
strengths and affinities to provide entertaining and interactive learning
experiences for the entire family – parents, guardians, grandparents, other
caregivers, and siblings.
Fair participants visit a series of stations with fun learning activities. Each
student-staffed activity demonstrates a system of the neurodevelopmental
framework that underlies learning. Parents are presented with general concepts
to build their understanding of this framework and its application to their
children’s educational progress.
The Fair is best suited for teachers of students in grades 4-6. The Fair may be
adapted to meet the needs of older and younger students.

Challenges of Homework, Organized for Learning, Paying Attention, Learning and
Self-Esteem, and Building Alliances.
The workshops are designed for parents and other adult caregivers of children
in grades K-8. Educators who have completed the Schools Attuned Core Course are
eligible to facilitate Learning about Learning Workshops under the guidelines
described in the Terms of Use.

The online Parent Toolkit is an extension of the Participant
Toolkit provided as part of the Understanding All Kinds of Minds program for
parents and caregivers. The online Parent Toolkit is designed to give parents,
caregivers, and educators a better understanding of learning processes,
insights into difficulties, and strategies for responding on the subjects of
attention, math, reading, and writing.
